Neatpad - the text-editor tutorial series - has finally come to a close after a 20-year hiatus.
If anyone still remembers Neatpad, it was an ambitious project that chronicled the development of a Win32 text editor from first principles, through to advanced data structures for supporting loading and editing of massive text files.

After a rather long period (20 years, in fact!), I finally found time to revisit this series, dust off all my notes and unfinished experiments, and bring this project to a close.
Neatpad is now a minimalist, high performance Win32 text editor, capable of editing multi-encoding, multi-gigabyte text and log files. A decent replacement for Windows Notepad in fact.
For those of you that recently found this tutorial series - I hope you find it interesting! And for those that started reading 20 years ago and hoped for some kind of closure… well, I did promise that I’d finish this someday! Hopefully it will meet your expectations!
